I can't remember when or how I realized I was living according to the definition of Voluntary Simplicity.
What I do remember is how the term resonated with me. Voluntary Simplicity. Letting go. Lightness. Silence. Spaciousness. Time. These words became real to me, and life suddenly became simpler. A path had been cleared and everything, inside and out, came alive. The few things I owned exposed their beauty and purpose. In my inner world, my thoughts became still and I experienced a calmer, wiser me. External lightness brought inner silence. And, in both worlds, I gained spaciousness.
My epiphany was to realize that, as my external needs decreased, my freedom increased. That made me cry with joy and relief. "At last"- I thought.
Now I know what I am here for and how it is for me. Live simply. Be of service. Respect all and work to bring -and feel- joy. Let's walk together in this great journey!
